Data Manager (formally known as Asset Register)

Data Manager is our generic data-entry tool.  With Data Manager, data-collection can be whatever the users want/need because they build the data-entry forms to suit their needs. The power and flexibility of Data Manager is in Data Manager Designer.  In other words, Data Manager Designer is the configuration tool used to create the data-entry forms and Data Manager shows those forms to the specified users to collect and maintain the data.

In its simplest form, Data Manager is an empty shell, much like MS Word, or Excel.  Data Manager Designer is the tool used to make Data Manager come alive with all kinds of data-entry forms.

Many of our clients have dozens or even hundreds of users who use Data Manager (Asset Register) to manage many unique database configurations.

Data Manager Features:

Data-entry Forms:
All forms created in Data Manager Designer are fully supported in Data Manager.

User Access:
There are no limits to how many data-entry forms can be created.  Forms are organized in configurations and groups.  Users are given access to any number of these forms in a very convenient way.  Users can also be restricted to view certain forms or even parts of a form in read-only mode.

Database Driven:
All the configurations are stored in a central database so any users in the entire organization can be given access to any number of configurations (and specific forms).

Mapping:
Google maps and GIS maps can be displayed on the forms and interact with the data.  For example use a GIS map to navigate to a record in the database simply clicking or double-clicking on the feature on the map.  Support GIS formats are ESRI and GeoMeadia ©.

Documents and other files:
Data Manager can store documents, photos, and any other binary file in a database or store the links to those files that are stored on a network drive.  The files can be opened with the push of a button just as if the user was to double-click on the file in Windows Explorer.

Photos:
Store unlimited number of photos in the database and automatically extract the Exif (Exchangeable image file format) information from the photos and store all or parts of it in the database separately.  For example if the photos store the GPS information (taken from a GPS enabled camera), then Data Manager can instantly extract that information and display those GPS coordinates on a Google map and/or GIS map.

Email:
Automatic email notifications are fully supported and can be customized based on whatever criteria is set in Data Manager Designer.  When needed, attachments can be included in the emails as well.

Calculations:
Data Manager fully supports any number of calculations.  The results of the calculations can be displayed on the form and/or stored in the database.

MS SQL Server Databases:
Supported database engines are Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and higher.
